The easiest way to add a photo to a payphone's wiki page.

Step by step

  1. Find the payphone's page. Click any phone on the map (the wiki link is in the bottom rail) or visit Special:Random/Payphone for a random one. Page titles look like Payphone:02951600X1 — the Telstra cabinet ID.
  2. Scroll to the "Photos" section near the top of the page. If photos already exist, you'll see a gallery; if not, an empty-state message inviting you to add the first.
  3. Click "Add a photo of this payphone". This opens the upload form with the filename, category, and licence already pre-filled — you don't need to edit any of those.
  4. Choose your image (JPG, PNG, or WebP — up to 15 MB).
  5. Add a caption (optional). In the description box you'll see a placeholder <!-- Add a caption here ... -->. Replace it with your caption, or leave it — the comment is invisible on the rendered file page.
  6. Click "Upload file". Your photo appears in the Photos section automatically once approved.

New accounts have their first uploads moderated for a quick spam check (usually within a day). Once auto-confirmed (4 days + 10 edits), uploads publish straight away.
