Location
This payphone is located on the Eastern side of The Mall, directly accessible via St John Street and Charles Street.
Pedestrian and public transport access
The payphone can be accessed directly via the Launceston interchange, serviced by Metro Tasmania, located on St John Street and York Street. The Launceston Regional Transit Centre is also located further away on St John Street. Most bus routes stop at these interchanges allowing lots of flexibility.
Bicycle access
Central Launceston does not have any cycling infrastructure. While the area is mostly flat, the infrastructure is car-centric and not designed with cycling in mind. Watch for driveways and busy traffic when cycling in this area.
Automobile access
This payphone is easily accessed by car via Charles Street, although note heavy traffic during peak hours and potential difficulty finding parking space near the payphone. St John Street contains the Launceston interchange and does not permit parking on the road near the payphone, Charles Street however has parking spots available nearby on the road. There is nearby dedicated parking within the Paterson Street Car Park and York Street Central Car Park.
